The QPTA organizes registered regional and provincial Trap shoots. It also organizes and conducts the annual Quebec Provincial shoot.
QPTA members must also be members of the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA). This North American association has its home in Vandalia OH. It controls and keeps the scores of all shooters and organizes the Grand American World Trapshooting event every year. Our provincial champion represents the Quebec province at this shoot.
In Canada the Canadian Trapshooting Association (CTA) organizes the annual Canadian championship.
3 types of shooting.
During all shoots including championships, shooters are generally classified in 4 or 5 different classes based on their ability and experience therefore even beginners may compete.
Guns used are 12ga shotguns and allowed ammunitions use #7½ or #8 lead shot. Hunting or competition guns may be used for trapshooting.
Contact the QPTA. The annual fee is $26.00. At the first registered shoot the new member will participate, he will have to become an ATA member. The annual fee is $23.00
